![]() ![]() She is committed to supporting grassroots projects and has a passion for encouraging women to aim-high and achieve their goals. Nicky is a certified Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) with the Fell Running Association and trains groups, clubs and individuals for specific goals. She also understands the need to enjoy life and get real pleasure from running! – this is especially true after her cancer diagnosis in 2006, and subsequent recovery. As a farmer, Nicky understands what it’s like trying to balance a demanding and unpredictable job alongside training and racing. Already in 2022 she placed 2nd female in the Montane Cheviot Goat ultra. In 2021 she came 3rd female in the Tor des Geants, as well as setting a new Lakeland 24h record. In 2019, Nicky’s esteemed running career gained her an entry in the formidable Barkley Marathons. Nicky enjoys racing long mountainous fell races such as the 10 Peaks Extreme (which she has won outright and is current course record holder), the Ultra Tour Mont Blanc (11th & 16th), E’Chappee Belle (2nd), Grand Raid Pyrenees (1st twice) and Grand Raid Re-Union (4th), Ultra Tour Monte Rosa (1st), as well as classic fell races and mountain marathons in the UK. ![]() ![]() In 2016 she broke the record for the Double Bob Graham round, finishing in 45.30 hours and in 2018 attempted a Double Ramsay Round but was thwarted by extreme high temperatures, but went on to complete in 55.56 hours. She also holds the record for the ladies Lakeland 24-hour round. Nicky has completed ten 24-hour rounds, and set records on all three of the big UK rounds Bob Graham 18.06, Paddy Buckley 19.02 and Ramsay Round 19.39. NICKY SPINKS is an Inov-8 athlete and Alpkit ambassador with an impressive list of achievements to her name across trail, ultra and fell-running. ![]()
